BREAKING: Nigerian Resident Doctors Suspend Strike

 In the early hours of Thursday, September 14, Nigeria's resident doctors have announced the suspension of their strike

- The decision was made after several appeals from the government and the public

- However, the doctors said they will review the response of the government in about two weeks

There is some good news for Nigerians especially those who have loved ones at the mercy of the Nigerian healthcare system.

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), has suspended its strike in the early hours of Thursday, September 14 after a meeting of the executives the association.

‎The Chairman of NARD, UCH, Ibadan chapter, Segun Olaopa while addressing journalists on the decision to suspend the strike, said: “The decision was reached following appeals from the public that the doctors should give the federal government more time to meet their demands.”

The earlier meeting which was held by NARD to review government's recent offers to the association started at 11 pm on Tuesday, September 12, and ended at 7 am on Wednesday, September 13.
