Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has pulled out of the Nigeria squad for their upcoming World Cup 2018 qualifiers Zambia with a hamstring injury picked up in Chelsea 2-0 win over Hull City.
Moses picked up the man of the match award in his first start for Chelsea in three years, playing in a new role as a wing back assigned to him by manager Antonio Conte who has unwavering faith in the Nigerian.
However his dazzling display that earned him the man of the match award came at a cost after the winger confirmed via his official twitter handle, that he pulled his hamstring in the game.
“Buzzing with the win today, brilliant team performance and great 3 points. Our fans were amazing!. Unfortunately I’m feeling my hamstring and so the club medical team will be reviewing me. Will be working hard to get fit asap #CFC” He posted on twitter.
His withdrawal from the clash in Ndola on the 9th of October, brings to two the number of high profile players who have pulled out of the tie, as he joins dependable defender Leon Balogun on the sidelines.
Meanwhile captain John Mikel Obi and wing wizard Moses Simon are also battling various fitness issues ahead of the clash, as they are both nursing varying degree of injury.
